The Patriot Program is a voluntary program at HWES. Each grade level (K-5) has guidelines. Testing is done in each class by a Patriot parent. Good citizenship, both in and out of school, is an outcome that the Patriot Committee strives for with this program.
Recognition will be given to those students who demonstrate a commitment to the Patriot Program. A Patriot Certificate of Participation will be awarded to students who do not complete the Patriot requirements, but who complete a minimum of 3 requirements. Students who complete the Patriot requirements will receive a Distinguished Patriot Certificate, plus grades K, 1, and 2 will receive badges. Grade 3 students will receive a blue ribbon with a medal, grade 4 students a red, white, and blue ribbon with medal.
The Patriot Program will start in October and must be completed by the last school day in April. Requirements and rewards are subject to change.
